Weekend Backpack Program

The program currently provides food for 73 students on weekends, holidays, and school breaks. The program is run as a service-learning project by the 5th-9th Grade After-School Program. Students pack the bags and deliver them to the classrooms to be sent home on Friday afternoons.

The project helps students engage and facilitate personal growth. Service-learning projects enable students to connect with the community. Not only will this give our students a different insight into their lives, but it will enable them to see what is happening in their own community.

The Hancock Community Education Foundation is thankful to the Lantry Family Foundation for sponsoring this program in its entirety.

Applications to participate are available on our website at hancockeducationfoundation.org under the forms section.
