Children’s Center

Objective: To provide parent and child with the best possible start in a unique environment designed to stimulate the child’s creativity and learning. The Children’s Center provides an opportunity for parents to network and share ideas with other parents.

Schedule: The Children’s Center is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It is housed in Father Rausch Memorial Hall of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. The Children’s Center is a drop in center, that requires the parent or care giver to remain with the child to participate in the planned activities.

Director: Tracy Resti attended Marywood College for fine Arts and the University of Buffalo where she received her NYS Dental assistant License. She is the Supervisor in charge of training and continuing education for Progressive Dental in Endwell NY.

Curriculum: Story hour. Rhyme time program. Music Program. Spanish Program. Art Program. Parenting. Mathematics for child & parent. Basics in color & shape. Special Programs: Car safety seat checks. Clothing exchange. American Red Cross CPR 7 First Aid Training. Book lending. Newsletters, pamphlets and literature. Plus programs provided by cooperating organizations : Cornell Cooperative Extension,, WIC (Women, Infants & Children), the Delaware County Health Department.

Evaluation: Baseline measurements are taken that can be studied over time. The children can be tracked as they move to the Preschool or the School District pre-kindergarten class.

Funding: The foundation provides funding through local fund raising and grants from other foundations. The current budget is $25,000.
