In 2014 family and friends of Rob Potter established the Rob Potter Memorial Scholarship available for Hancock Central School students. This fund will be for graduates of Hancock Central School, with preference to a student who has a love of sports and a passion for writing. Rob graduated from Hancock Central School in 1991 and from Penn State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1995. He was a member of the Callicoon United Methodist Church and an Eagle Scout. Rob was employed as the sports editor for the Sullivan County Democrat, and was very dedicated to his work.
